I am so excited I can barely contain it and yes I am a complete nerd, but we got a new dining room table and I am in love! One thing that I love that we as a family do is eat at the table every night. This is very important to me and when Braxton started eating food in his high chair I made it a point to set our places at the table also. This was a huge change for us, seeing as how we ate in front of the TV every night before that. I was brought up eating around the table every night (it was a treat to set those ol' TV trays out and get to eat in the living room) and I want our children to do the same- it is kind of time for reflection of the day, having family conversations, laughing, etc! When we moved in to this house (two years ago this March) we had just a plain jane table with a burn mark on it (my fault for leaving a candle in a jar burning when we left one day--oops), then we got a table from my step-mom and dad that was so beautiful. It was a solid wood pedestal table but did not have matching chairs. I had great plans and visions of the chairs that I wanted to get but the chairs alone were SO expensive! So every once in a while I would cruise onto craigslist and look for new tables, most of them were out dated, not our style, etc until the other day--I found this one! It's a counter heigh table and has a leaf (which makes it rather large!) and we just think it's beautiful! I have debated and debated and tried to talk myself out of buying it, which in turn has cause my husband to deem me a tight wad (don't worry this did not offend me- I am a self proclaimed tight wad and laughed at the texts that he was sending me yesterday!). Anyways, he told me that he was going to try to teach me to spend money which then lead to great anxiety on my part--I am horrible at making decisions and especially ones where I have to spend money (oh the story and saga of money spending could go on and on). Needless to say, I made the decision and we are now the owners of a new dining table!!!!! I love it and can not wait for our nightly dinners, weekend breakfasts, and even lunches at this table (I also can't wait to go spend money today and buy some kind of center piece- not sure he knows what he started, hahaha kidding! Really the money talk is all in good humor and an inside joke!).

Thank you. I love it!!!
Looks great!! And if you're a nerd, I'm a nerd. We got a new table a year ago this month, and it was practically life altering for me! It's such a big thing to have a table you think is beautiful and want to make meals for your family on!
