This and That

The title says it all, just a bunch of this and that outlined by bullets!
  • I'm 22 weeks and one day along!  Oh how I love being pregnant but my anxiety about meeting this little one is making the time feel like it is going by one.minute.at.a.time.  Four months from yesterday we will be tranisitioning from a family of three to a family of four!  (I have a picture but it keeps posting it sideways-no idea!)
  • We finally close on the sell of our rent house today!!!!!!!!  I could not be more excited, this has been a long, tiring journey and I am so ready to be done with it.  Who knew selling a house could be as hard and emotionally draining as finding the perfect house to buy?!?!
  • I am still reading So Long Insecurity and I am getting to the "fix yourself" part, if that makes sense.  The first part of the book talks about the different kinds of common insecurity which I needed to read, I related to so many of those scenarios.  What I thought was so neat was that Beth Moore actually pointed out places in the Bible where insecurity is illustrated, who would have thunk it?!?! The part of the book that I am at now is what I really need to read though, how do I fix myself or better yet how do I give it all to God, find my strength, and get my dignity back.  She is clothed with strength and dignity. Proverbs 31:25.
  •  The nursery-- the empty nursery is not so empty anymore (but it's not full either, haha).  We moved the changing table from Brax's room to the nursery last week and it seriuosly makes me smile.  Such a simple thing but it seems to make it all that much more real!  This was a hard decision and I contemplated just buying another changing table because I still use the changing table for Brax.  We use it for every diaper change and for getting dressed!  Once we moved it this weekend, I started changing and dressing him on the floor, which I guess works ok.
  • Nesting- I have the urge to nest ALL THE TIME.  It's so early but I want my house spotless all the time and my new obsession is clutter.... I do not like clutter right now.  I feel like cleaning out every cabinet, closet, drawer, etc and just throwing stuff away! haha.
Have a HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!

It's Been A Long One

I feel like this week has been never ending!  Seriously?!?!  It feels like it has been two weeks worth of "stuff" all crammed into 5 short days.  Work has been crazy busy and I never feel caught up, I have had three late days this week, Brax has not been sleeping well, etc. etc. etc. but there have also been so many precious moments that make me realize I have so much to be grateful for!
  • I am so grateful for my husband this week (not that I am not grateful for him every week) but this week was just a "down in the dumps" week for me and everytime I turn around he has done/said something that has made me smile/laugh hysterically and forget about being in a "blah" mood.
  • I am so grateful for my new steam mop and the time hubby entertained Brax so I could use my new mop (I know, I know, I am a huge nerd).
  • I am so grateful for dinner with a friend last night and the time we had to catch up.  Man I miss getting to see her all the time!
  • The little things: finding Brax asleep on the floor last night (Long story-- and do not worry his safety was not jeopardized, haha), the middle of the night laughter as hubby and I tried to frantically figure out why on Earth our child thought it was a good idea to be awake for hours at a time, the moment that Brax decided (at 4:00am) that he was ready to go back to bed so he came to climb up on the couch with me, put his arm over me and fell right to sleep, the cookies hubby baked, and the two nights that hubby cooked dinner this week.

This and That Tuesday

Just some thoughts!
  • We were up from 1-4 with Braxton last night. He was not crying, not hungry, not thirsty, just awake! It makes me wonder about his ear infection he had two weeks ago but he has no symptoms so I don't know.
  • I got home and found a new steam mop waiting for me yesterday! I am so excited to use it and honestly can't believe I didn't bust it out last night but I was way too tired!
  • I started a new book a while back but have not had a chance to read much (it's a little hard to sit down and read a whole book in a day like I used to).  I am reading Beth Moore's So Long Insecurity- you've been a bad friend.  So far this book has been amazing and related to me in so many ways.  I can't wait to read the rest!
  • Ever been down in the dumps for no good reason and tried to talk your self out of it over and over?!?!  That's me for the last few days.  I will get over it and move on!  (This is one of the reasons hubby bought me a steam mop, haha, he knows the way to cheer me up- buy me a new cleaning tool, or cook dinner, or bake cookies... haha he did it all!)
  • Ohhhhh--today I have to have my classroom be part of our faculty meeting.  If you know me, I hate being in the spot light and I really do not like talking in front of people and today I have to do both.  I know it won't end up being that big of a deal and hopefully time will FLY by but the anticipation and anxiety leading up to it is horrible! haha wish me luck!
  • RAIN- and LOTS of it!
Ok enough randoms for today!

The Little Gym?!?!

We are going Saturday for a free introductory class at The Little Gym! We are so excited to see how Brax does!  Have any of my blogger friends taken their child or been to The Little Gym?  It is a little steep in cost but we are going to check it out and see what we can figure out!

Monday Musings

Let's see...
  • My mom is out of the hospital.  She was admitted last Wednesday for a high fever and she was released Sunday with lots of medicine and no sure cause.  They ran a lot of tests and cultures and all of it came back normal so I think we are still stumped as to what it was.  They ran tests looking for bacteria but they all came back normal, so I am thinking it was viral and had to runs it's course.  She is on strict orders to not go back to work until her chemo treatments are complete (9 weeks).  We are so grateful that they signed her on to a one year contract to work from home when all of this began to happen.  It is so easy for chemo patients, since the chemo kills everything, to pick up any little virus, cold, etc.
  • I have been so anxious to meet this baby, way more anxious then I was with Brax (not that I wasn't ready to meet him but I do not think that it started this early in the pregnancy).  I love being pregnant, like really love it, but I am so ready to meet and hold this new little one!  We have NOTHING done to prepare for the baby (well we have the nursery cleared out) but that's about it, but I am still ready! I am 21 weeks today, if I make it to term (my delivery date that he has scheduled) then it is only 18 weeks and two days away--I can make it right?!?! I guess I do not have a choice, hehe.  In the coming weeks we will get a crib, move the changing table from Brax's room to the baby's room, and so on.  I am also so thankful that I get the WHOLE summer with my kiddos!  Brax will probably still go to Mrs. D's house two days a week (If I can manage to get him there alone) just to give me a little time to recover but I have already been thinking about things that we can do, even with the little one!
  • Friends--Love them-couldn't live without them!  This weekend I got to hang out with a friend that I have been friends with since sixth grade.  She does not live in the area anymore but she came in for the day and we got to go to lunch and come back to my house and just hangout and talk.  It was so nice to catch up with her and it is so great to know that even though we do not talk everything or see each other but maybe 3-4 times a year we are still friends!  Love her!
  • Double Date!!!!!!!!  We have not been very good at keeping up with our date time, but this weekend we went on a double date, sans Braxton, and we had a blast!  They live in east Texas too so it is hard to see them as often as we would like but when we do we love it!  I worked with Karmen in college and we hit it off and when we introduced our husbands they were like long lost cousins/brothers who have a lot of stuff in common so it works out great!  They recently got married and we were so excited to share that day with with!
Ok enough rambling for Monday morning.... I have some cute pictures of Brax but I am currently sharing batteries between our computer mouse and our camera so I have to wait! haha.

20 weeks and other stuff!

Week 20

Maternity Clothes: Some pants (mainly jeans) and a few shirts.  Everything is still pretty big.

Sleep: Waking up a lot for potty breaks.

Gender: We will see May 30th (my delivery date changed due to Memorial Day)

Belly Button: Still in.  It never stuck out last time so I do not think it will this time.

What I miss: Nothing really- I love being pregnant.

What I am looking froward to: Getting the nursery set up as much as possible... and of course meeting this little one!

Milestone: I am halfway there!!!!

Cravings: goodness, let's see..... I am craving ice cream A LOT but I have yet to eat any so the craving is still there (PS- frozen fruit bars do NOT satisfy an ice cream craving!)  Grilled Cheese- I was never a grilled cheese eater until this pregnancy and we have them almost once a week now!  California rolls- I could eat them everyday!  Cookie dough or fresh baked cookies- I made two packages of cookies last week and they only lasted until Wedneday..oops.  (I did send them to work with hubby everyday and sent some to his co-worker so No I did not eat them all =)

Size of baby: 6-1/2 inches and was measuring 10 ounces on our sonogram this last week!
our sweet blessing at 19-1/2 weeks

Sweet Brax
Still precious as ever with goopy, red, swollen eyes
Poor baby has pink eye.  I would give anything for him to catch a break.  I don't care about hubby and I getting one, just him. hmmmmph :(  We noticed Friday night when we were on the way to our car from eating dinner with sweet family that both of his eyes were green and goopy (nasty) so we watched it all day Saturday (his nose was pretty nasty too) and by Sunday he was in the mood to just lay on us and not do anything.  Both eyes were still running nasty nasty nasty stuff.... so we found an Urgent Care for Kids facility and off we went.  Sure enough our suspicions were right... PINK EYE! We left with two antibiotics (one of his ears was infected too-go figure) and a cranky little boy.  This morning his nose is a little better but his poor eyes are still so red and nasty =( Sweet moment: Brax and I share a yogurt almost every night after dinner and I always make him sit down to share it with me.  (If not, he tries to climb in my lap or all over me and the yogurt ends up all over both of us).  So, this morning I got a yogurt for us to share (I say share....but I rarely end up with more than about three bites total, haha) and he went and sat down right where we always sit to eat it.  Melted my heart!
Big Brother: I have started showing him where the baby is, patting my belly and saying baby, and using words like sister and brother.  We are also going to get him some big brother books that I have found online.  I do not think that he will understand, considering he is so young, but hey it's worth a try.

Baby Update

Our little miracle is growing leaps and bounds, already six inches long from crown to rump!  This week (19 weeks) he/she may be able to start hearing the outside world! I am feeling the little one more and more and I think that you can feel it on the outside now... not sure if it is just me feeling it from the inside or if I really felt it on my hand.  HAHA.  My stomach is definitely popping out and my kids are not scared or ashamed to let me know.  This past week, after not seeing them for almost two weeks, I had comments of "well at least your shirts are not too small" and "Your stomach is really starting to stick out."  They are very funny!  I still feel great, no complaints at all!!!  We go this week for my monthly check up and our "non" gender revealing sonogram. I am SOOO excited to see our little one again.  I can't wait to see the profile and (almost) all of the body parts!
18 Weeks

19 weeks!

Small Things Sunday

I love the small things in life and I am trying my hardest this 2012 not get caught up in the chaos of life and enjoy/embrace the little things!

  • I loved getting to grocery shop before my family even woke up this morning, although when you go that early there are no cashiers--you have to use the self check out.
  • I love that we (the three of us) spent the morning in the kitchen.  Daddy getting our crock pot dinner ready, me cooking breakfast and cookies while doing laundry (the laundry room is connected to the kitchen), and Braxton walking around talking, screaming, and making a disaster out of everything.
  • I love that I only spent $83 for our whole weeks worth of food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)!
  • I love that I am feeling the baby move more and more!

4 Years

Four years ago today, I married my best friend, the one I live for, laugh with, love.

Today marks our fourth wedding anniversary! The last four years have held a lot; a lot of learning, laughing, compromising, communicating, ups, downs, tears, joy, and more learning but most of all love, honor, and respect.  We have been able to take every circumstance/situation, good or bad, put our selfishness aside (compromise) and learn from it, grow as a couple, and grow in our marriage.  We have learned that marriage is about putting each other first and putting our marriage above all things.  We have learned to communicate with each other about everything, even when it is an uncomfortable topic.  We have developed a love for each other far beyond the love that we shared four years ago, and we have learned how to be parents together, which by the way, is such an amazing journey!

I look forward to many, many, many, many, many, more years of learning, laughing, compromising, communicating, ups, downs, tears (hopefully not too many ;), and joy but most of all many more days of loving, honoring, and respecting each other through it all. "Let marriage he held in honor among all things..." Hebrews 13:4.
