Thanksgiving

I know I know I am a few months off according to my title but I have just had a lot on my mind lately and I sit here a lot and thinking about all that I am blessed with. I know I grew up with a wonderful childhood, even though my parents were divorced my sister and I still had a superb childhood. Was it always perfect? No but we had more then we could have ever needed and all the love and support that anyone could ask for, and we have our mom and dad to thank for that! But as I have sat here these last few months I have realized how lucky I am as an adult now. I met the man who is now my husband at the early age of 20. I never dated much in middle school or high school so in my mind I always feared that I would never get married or I would not get married until a later age, but this was not the case. I think we fell in love instantly, haha, and we have now been married for 2 years and almost 6 months. AND on top of that we will be blessed with our first child in late November! I honestly could not ask for more. Has it always been easy, not by any means. One of our hardest times was when we had to live on very little money as I finished college, sometimes that took us digging food from the pantry that we didn't even know we had (don't worry it wasn't expired) to be able to eat and not have to spend money. Sometimes that took us staying in on the weekend instead of going out with friends, sometimes that meant that my husband had to work on Saturday, but we made it and we are that much stronger because of it. I am so blessed that my husband is so calm. No matter what kind of bind we were in he always always always found something positive in it when I on the other hand was probably sitting in the bedroom crying, haha.
I think about how blessed I am that we both have wonderful jobs. I work my dream job as a teacher and could not have asked for a better position/school/group of people to work with. I am so thankful that we both have jobs, especially in this economy. Don't get me wrong there are days when we both come home and can't wait to forget everything that has gone on that day, but in the end we have to remind ourselves that it really could be worse and we need to be thankful that we can wake up the next day and have a job and a steady paycheck.
I think I could go on and on but these are only a few things that I am so VERY thankful for. What are you thankful for???

I think I skipped week 17, we are already onto week 18!

So, I am a week behind in my posts so I will try to catch up. I feel like I have been so busy these last couple of weeks that I have not be able to get much accomplished. Although I am very thankful for the opportunity to teach summer school and for the extra money, I am ready for it end. Which, I might add is in THREE days!!! It has been so easy, with everything already planned out for me, but I wake up every day thinking "Man, if I wouldn't have signed up for this I could still be sleeping." BUT then the thought of the extra money out weighs my sleeping thought! So enough rambling... what has been going on......
We celebrated Father's Day with my dad the day before Father's Day. I made homemade lasagna and bread and Alicia brought dessert and salad! It was delish and we really enjoyed the time we all got together. I need to be be better at taking pictures because I would love to have put a picture of my daddy with his children right here! I can't seem to find an old one of all of us so here is one that I took on the Mule drawn carriage ride in Jefferson, Texas. I love this picture!
You can't tell from this picture but some how we ran out of seats in the wagon so dad got stuck in a chair on the back of the wagon, haha.
Sunday (Father's Day) we went to Burgers Lake with Buddy's dad, mom, sister, and her boyfriend Chris. We had a great time. We got there early, which ended up being the best thing! We got three tables in the shade right across from the water. Although I couldn't do any of the fun stuff, we still had a blast. I was able to go in the water in my new skirt bathing suit that I am proud of HAHA. Here is a picture of me, hubby, and baby at the lake, please excuse my hair. HAHA.
Now for belly pictures.... the first one is 18 weeks and the second one in the green shirt is 17 weeks.

We go this week for our "non" gender revealing sono. I am very excited to see how this baby has grown from that original sonogram we had at 6weeks 5 days pregnant!!!!! I have also been feeling little thumps in my lower abdomen which I am assuming is the baby. I started feeling these during my 16th week but was not sure if it really could be the baby but they continue to occur so I am pretty sure to say that it is the baby! One weird thing that I Have noticed in the last three days is my craving for salads. I have eaten like 5 salads in the last 5 days.... they are SOOO yummy!

16 weeks.... not much to blog about

I do not really have much to blog about but I have my 16 week picture. I feel like this picture is not a good picture of what I really look like because most days my stomach just looks like I Have gained weight, not like I am pregnant. So tomorrow I will probably wake up and the bump/any signs of a pregnant stomach will be gone, but just got documentation I will post it. (excuse the no makeup. We had just gotten back from the gym and I showered and did not want to put on a full face of makeup)
I have been making it to the gym more often which is a huge change from the first trimester. I was so tired during those first 13-14 weeks that I was doing good to make it until 7:30 pm. I am feeling must more energized these last few weeks and have made it to the gym 5 times this week!!!! It really makes me feel better plus I know it will help with the horrible weight gain that I have already experienced. I know people say "you are pregnant it's ok to gain weight" but mine was a little excessive, so I am really watching how much I eat and working out!! Ok well that is all for now!

Inspiration and Fabrics!!

After what seems like forever, I was finally able to decide on fabric for the nursery. I have searched high and low for inspiration, ideas, already made bedding, etc but I was never fully in love with any of them. One day my mom sent me a link to a nursery done by HGTV and it kind of stuck. Not the nursery itself but the bedding fabric. Here is a picture of what we found... again please ignore the nursery part and just look at the bedding.
I originally thought I wanted to go with the green but I didn't necessarily like the green they had in that nursery so I found some brighter greens that I liked but while standing in Joann's my eyes just kept getting drawn towards blues. (Not sure if I should take this as a sign or if I just like the color blue at the moment, haha). So I walked over to the solid colors and found this blue and fell in love. So here is the fabric that I got today.
NOTE: the picture does not really show the true color of the blue. I do not even know what to call the color but its not baby blue like it looks in the photo. Also if baby Carney is a girl then we will end up adding pink accents to the room!
If you look in the "inspiration" picture, the pillow has zebra print on it. So our plan is to accent with zebra print. Maybe a pillow and a lamp or somewhere on the curtain. Also, the way that we have the bedding planned is that the bumpers will be made out of the black and white patterned fabric and we will make the bedskirt with the blue fabric and put a strip of the patterned fabric at the bottom. I am very excited now!!! The picture of the fabric to me looks so boring so I am very excited to see what this is going to look like when it is all said and done!!!!

15 weeks

I am a few days behind getting my 15 week post up. Boy, every since I started blogging I feel like the weeks are flying. I blog one weekt then the next time I turn around I feel like I am blogging for the next week. This week our baby is about 4.5 inches long. This truly amazes me just thinking about how I have a 4.5 inch human being inside of me. This week our baby is also growing fingernails and toenails, the three bones in our baby's ear are developing, the arms and legs are able to move all around, as well as, the baby being able to do somersaults and move all around. (This update is not as thorough BUT I am on a very slow network and I am not able to easily pull up a website to find out what exactly is going on, haha)
I also think that I have changed my mind on part of the nursery furniture. Orginally I was going to have a crib, changing table, dresser, and a glider, but I have been looking and found that they have changing tables and dressers all in one. Although the nursery is not small, I really feel like this will save a lot of room and not leave the nursery feeling like it has wall to wall furniture in it. Here is the one that I like:
This week I also started our stock pile of diapers. Since I was only at Kroger, there was not really that many options/sizes of packages. For newborn, I could only find a 36 pack but it was on sale so I took advantage and I got a package of size 1 that were on sale too. I plan on starting to stock up NOW so that when the baby gets here we might not be running to the store ALL the time.... or maybe we will but I like to think that this might help in the long run!
The thing that that I find odd is that when I wake up in the morning I NEVER look pregnant. I just look thicker then normal. BUT as the day goes on it is as if my stomach just grows and sticks out more. I know this sounds so weird but I guess unless you are me you won't really understand ;) BUT the other morning I woke up and I looked like I had a baby bump. I say this because some days I look pregnant and some days I feel like everything has disappeared. So here is a picture of the day I woke up with a baby bump....

We go back July 1st for our sonogram. This would normally be the "gender revealing sonogram" BUT I guess it will just be a time for us to see our little one. I keep thinking that one day I will wake up and we will have decided to find out the gender... but it's not likely. This has proven to be more difficult for me then I thought it would. The thing that I Have most trouble with is deciding what to decorate the room in. I can not find anything that LOVE. So mom and I are going to start looking for fabrics to make our own bedding. Another thing that I struggle with is the comment from others. I try to ignore them but some are uncalled for and some are just down right rude. My pregnancy rant for today: I know it's hard to find "gender neutral" things so if it bothers someone that much then they do not have to buy us anything. That's all until 16 weeks!!!
