Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was fun, relaxing, and full of missing daddy!  Hubby called me Friday and asked me to make him a doctors appointment because he did not feel well.  Literally all he told me was that he did not feel good so when the lady at the doctor's office asked me what the appointment was for I slowly said "well, um, he just said he did not feel good."  Ending up he has a throat infection... not strep though.  Weird.  I am thankful that he went ahead and went to the doctor though because by Friday night the infection was in full force and he felt really crummy. 

Saturday we had planned on going to the lake and spending the night.  My step grandmother has a lake house so we had planned (for two months) to go out there with my dad and step mom and stay the night, swim, cook, etc.  I was very hesitant to go and asked over and over and over if he wanted me to stay home but he insisted we go because all he was going to do it is sleep, so Brax and I packed up and went.  Side note: packing for an over night stay with a baby is a chore.  Packing for myself and a baby with no help due to my husband being sick is an even bigger chore.  BUT I did it, I got all of our stuff rounded up and the WHOLE car was packed.  We ended up having a great time.  Braxton loved crawling all over the lake house and loved exploring the new place!  Dad had cooked a ham, potato salad, cole slaw, and corn salad and it was all so delicious!  Alicia, Kris, and Madelyn came out for dinner and left shortly after.  The babies had a great time!  Braxton got a bath in the sink and his night time bottle and of course was exhausted but let me tell you a little something about my baby.... he will NOT go to sleep unless he is in his own bed.  So, I loaded him and Colton in the car and went for a drive.  He was immediately asleep so we headed back to the house and put him to bed!  I brought the pack-n-play but did not even set it up because I had this bright idea that Brax and I would just share the full size bed.  Well.... let's just say this little 8 month old hogged the whole bed the whole night, haha.  I laid so still in a straight line on my foot of bed space all night long. hahaha.  I was ok with it though, I thoguht it was pretty funny that this little 20lb boy could use so much space! haha.  Anyways, we got up, had breakfast, swam, had lunch, then headed home to see daddy.  Side note: I missed my husband SOO much!  I had a good time but missed him so so so so so much!  We got home around noon and have not stopped playing since.  We have had a blast today!!!

Different topic: Braxton is crawling everywhere now.  He is still not that fast but he can get wherever he wants.  I think all of this is So fun!  Braxton crawls around and explores everything, talks as he crawls, gets to what he wants to play with, then will laugh and squeel.  We are loving it!!!  We are also on like day 5 of no baby food.  This is so fun for me too.  I love making his breakfast, lunch, and dinner!  I went to store the other day to get him some tablefoods and he has loved it all.  His new favorite snack is Goldfish babies.  They are just small goldfish, so cute!  I also love to just sit next to him and watch him eat.  He picks up his own food and puts it in his mouth.  I realize this is not that big of a deal but this is one of those things that just melts my heart.  I love watching him grow and do/learn new things.  He also said his first word Friday, Da Da of course!  haha. 

Anyways... this is a big bunch of rambling but stuff I want to remember!
