8 Months

I just realized that I never posted for his 8 month birthday.  I am oh so busy and things just keep getting busier!  Let's see.... This month Braxton is:

  • Still getting up on all fours and rocking all of the time.  He can get places but not do the traditional crawl.  (He did the traditional crawl on Tuesday 8/2/11.  It is still few and far between and he gets frustrated when we walk to the kitchen and he is still in the living room so we try to remind him that he can crawl and come with us since I am sure he can understand what we are saying haha!)
  • He is taking three bottles a day.  One after breakfast, one after lunch, and one before bed.
  • He still eats food very well.  Sometimes table food and sometimes stage three baby food.  I think he gets tired of putting in the effort of eating a complete meal of table food, I know this does not make sense to yall but he gets fussy like he is tired. haha.  So I have to supplement with baby food.   He is still trying all sorts of new table foods but we are not quite on all table foods, which is fine.... he will get there when he is ready!
  • His new favorite snack is club crackers.
  • He still LOVES water.  I let him have his sippy cup a lot and he just drinks the water right up.
  • Still not saying any sounds.
  • Not sure what his exact stats are for weight and height.  I put him on the scale with me the other day and it came out to be 20.4.
  • Wears mainly twelve month clothes.
  • Size four diapers.
  • He loves our dog, Buster.  He usually talks to him when he walks by or climbs on him when they are both on the floor.  It is so precious!
  • Still in the stage where he does not like us to put him down if we are at home but if we are at someone else's house he is perfectly content on the floor.
  • Having sleeping trouble lately, ha!  Naps really well during the day but is up between 2-5 times during the night.  He is really really good at sitting up from the laying position so I think everytime that his eyes open he just sits right up and cries.  So most of the time I can go in and give him his paci and lay him back down and he will be ok but sometimes I have to rock him.
  • He can pull up to his knees.
He is so so sweet and I am dreading going back to work after getting the summer off with him. This morning I put the bouncer and the swing in the garage to be disassembled and put in the attic and it broke my heart.  I love seeing him grow and learn new things, but I feel like it is all happening so fast.

Don't blink, before you know it you will be celebrating his first birthday. My little man is one year old today, and I have no idea where the time went!

I know... I feel like I should begin thinking about his first birthday party but I just do not want to yet. =(

It's always surprising how fast it goes - and it probably will be for the rest of our lives. I told Adam the other day that we'll probably be old and gray, and I'll still be looking at Allie saying, "Can you believe how big she is?" :) Start planning that birthday party - it's fun!
