7 months, ALREADY?!?!

7 months?!?! Already?!  How can this be?  It feels like just yesterday I heard the doctors announce "It's a boy" and everyone in the operating room cheering as they pulled this very precious little guy out of me... and now I turn around and he is SEVEN months old.  Hmmmph.  How can this be?

Anyways- Yes seven months have passed and we are having the time of our lives!  We both LOVE LOVE LOVE being parents and we are loving watching our little guy grow and develop daily right before our eyes.
Lets see what has Braxton been up to:
  • At his six month appt he weighed 19.3 so I am sure he is weighing close to 20 if not more by now.  We weighed him at Uncle Scott and Aunt Steph's house the other day and their scale registered 20.2... so I am really not sure how much he is right now.
  • He is eating three meals a day.  For breakfast he gets two fruits (usually prunes and one other fruit, which he seriously loves, to help with his issues, ha!) or sometimes he gets a thing of yogury but that tends to worsen the tummy issues, for lunch he gets a veggie and a fruit, and for dinner usually a "dinner" type baby food and a veggie or fruit.   We also feed him little nibblets of stuff that we are eating like beans, noodles, etc!
  • He can hold and drink from a sippy cup by himself.  He even tilts it up to get the water to where he can suck it.
  • He eats puff now... usually after dinner with his sippy cup.
  • He has six teeth.  2 on the bottom and 4 on the top. (EDIT.... I am editing this on the night of his 7 month birthday and we just found another tooth that has come through, so now he has 7!)
  • He is still very tall.  At six months he was 28 inches so I am not sure what he is measuring now.
  • Wears 9-12 month clothing.
  • Size 3 diapers.
  • He takes 4 bottles a day, usually only 4-6 ounces at each feeding, sometimes more before bed.
  • His sleeping has been way off lately.  Waking up A LOT.  Sometimes he wants a bottle and sometimes he is just awake for no reason.
  • Still not a great napper, although recently with him being home with me more he has been taking a 2 hours nap in the morning about 10 o'clock.  This is the longest he has ever napped which really leaves me bored and not sure what to do with my time, ha!
  • He has been very very clingy.  I have read that this is normal for this age so we just soak up the time of holding him because we know that one day this will all change.
  • He is sitting up all by himself with very few falls/topples.  If he does fall he usually does not cry or if he does he stops after a very very very short time.
  • His new trick is getting up on all fours.  He started getting up on his knees but could never lift himself up with his arms... Wednesday (6/22) he started lifting himself up all the way and rocking.  We know this could mean that in a very short time we will be chasing him around the house as he gets into everything. Once he gets up he will lift his head up to make sure you are looking at him and give you the biggest open mouth smile.  Melts my heart!
  • He still loves us to sing.
  • He has started putting himself to sleep for nap time and most of the time bed time.  At these times, he has also come to love his blanket.  He often times puts it right over his head and falls right to sleep then we have to go in and move it away from his face or he will just hold on to it like a "cuddle pillow" as I call it.
  • He does not babble much but he sure does holler and shriek as loud as he can.
  • He loves to be outside.  If he is fussy we can go out there and sit there forever and he is so content.
So big.

Looking much bigger on the couch than he used to

We love parenthood and would not trade it for the world.  Baby boy, we love you to the moon and back.

P.S. Ironically mommy finally hit her pre-pregnancy weight this morning!!!  After 7 long months I can finally say I have lost all of my Braxton weight!!!
