| "Hey Ladies" |
I think back to November 30th and I think "It can't already have been 3 months, can it?!" Well yes, it has and we have loved watching Braxton grow, change, learn, etc! Let's see what has he been up to...
- Still takes 5oz every 3 hours or so.
- He weighs 14 pounds! He is our big boy!
- He is wearing size 1 diapers
- He is still mainly in 0-3 month clothes but has some onesies that are too short and many sleepers that are too short so we have him in 3-6 month sleepers just for length.
- He usually only wakes up one time during the night
- He goes to bed between 8-9 every night and is very good at putting himself to sleep. He is usually so tired by the time we put him down that it does not take long for him to go to sleep.
- This month he has had his first stuffy nose. The good thing is that it is usually at it's worst in the morning and then will clear up as the day goes on. We have his humidifier going every night, the head of his bed is slightly elevated since laying flat makes it worse, and we have been using saline drops! He has not had any fever and does not act like he feels bad at all and we are VERY thankful for that. (EDIT: we took him to the doctor on Friday and he has allergies and is beginning to teeth.... so those are the causes for the stuffy nose.)
- He smiles A LOT! He loves for us to talk and sing to him and he will smile the whole time!
- He has also started getting excited to see us. Sometimes when we walk up to him he starts kicking his legs and moving his arms and just smiling! It is such a wonderful feeling, even if it is 3:30 in the morning!!!
- This month he also spent his first unexpected night away from us. Buddy came down with a severe stomach problem one evening and ended up being sick ALL night. SO I laid in bed just worrying about Braxton getting sick and I literally did not sleep a wink. So the next day Buddy was still sick and I was at work just dragging (I thought it was from lack of sleep and worrying so much). But by the end of the day I was freezing cold (fever) and had not eaten a single thing all day. So my mom agreed to pick him up from Mrs. D and Mr. T's house and keep him for a while so I could take a nap and hopefully feel better but by the time I got home I had a 101.6 fever and started vomitting and by the time I went to carenow I had a 102.1 fever. So Buddy and I decided that it was best that he not be around us. So my mom kept him. Let's just say this was VERY VERY VERY hard on this momma. I cried about it A LOT. I cried in carenow just thinking about him not being with me, I cried everytime my mom would send me a picture, I laid in bed and cried, but it turned out to be ok. I am not going to say I did not obsessively text her asking him about him, because I did, but I was able to get a whole nights rest and felt much better the next day!
- He has started talking a lot more and we LOVE it. It is like you are sitting there having a conversation with him =)
- He has giggled a couple of times!!!!!! You have to act or sound really stupid in order to get him to do it, haha, but it was for sure a giggle!
- He still loves his bath and he gets one every night. He probably does not need one every night (he doesn't move around a lot) but we both enjoy the routine of it and it helps wind him down plus it's so fun! He sits there and we talk and he smiles the whole time... but as soon as he hears that water go off and we stop washing him, he SCREAAAAAMMMSSS! We keep the bathroom heater on and wrap him in a thick hooded towel as soon as we are done so he can not possibly be cold. He have tried drying and lotioning him in the bathroom... we have tried doing that on his changing table (which is his FAVORITE place to be) we have tried everything. (EDIT..... the last few days he has been happy as a little lark when I take him out)
Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back baby boy.
