29 Weeks and a FREAK accident

10 more weeks until we meet this new little one!!!  So excited!!!  I was also excited about this new hand me down shirt that my sister in law gave me, too bad I only got to wear it for about an hour and now it is completely ruined unless we find a miracle solution to get the blood out of it.  Yes, leave it to me to to have the weirdest freak accident happen to me this morning.  I was stepping out of my car at work this morning with my hands full and at the exact moment I was standing up a huge gust of wind came and SLAMMMEEEDDDD the car door into my nose.  Yes, you read that correctly.  No my arm didn't catch the door, no my head didn't catch the door, no my hip didn't catch the door-- my NOSE did.  Instantly causing it to GUSH blood. It really did not hurt which surprised me since the nose is so sensitive but it sure does hurt now.  I leaned over and got some napkins out of my glove compartment but I already had blood all over my face, hands, and shirt. When I say it was GUSHING blood I really mean it was like a bloody waterfall.  I got inside with blood in my hair, hand, on my face and shirt and two teachers helped me get in my classroom, got my stuff from me, got me a new shirt, and an ice pack (I was really hoping to avoid seeing anyone but I guess that is hard to do in a school).  At this point I am crying (mainly out of embarrassment) and trying to clean my self up.  Anyways, I have a new shirt on, a swollen and bruised nose (the nurse told me it could be broken because it is crooked but I am holding onto hope that she was just seeing the slight crookedness that my nose has always had).  I have filled out my workers comp paper and put a call into my OB to ask what I need to do about X-rays (incase I go to the dr about my nose) and now I sit here with a weird feeling nose.  It is pretty tender on one side and pretty swollen and bruised but I am clinging/hoping/praying it is just bruised and swollen.

Lately

*Warning: This could be a very long post*
I feel so so much has been going on but really it's not anything too significant, just us enjoying life!
This week is spring break and I have to say it really makes me wish I was a stay at home mommy, although my husband would love to argue with me over this (not really) but he would LOVE to be a stay at home dad and I would so let him if we could figure out a way! Anyways, the weather has been so nice this past week and we (our family) sure are loving it.  We spend our evenings, yes every evening, outside.  Usually I am wrangling the little one when he is not "helping" daddy and daddy is working on a project!  This week we had a zoo day with Aunt 'Leasha, cousin Madelyn, and Uncle Cotloh (inside joke) and it was so fun!  We brought my mom's wagon to pull the babies around in and they had a blast.  While Madelyn was content most of the time just sitting and being pulled in the wagon, Braxton wanted out to run!  So needless to say after the first half of our zoo trip Braxton had to get out of the wagon and get rid of some of his energy.  We got there right when they opened and by the time we left around 1:30 it was getting pretty crowded but we had fun!  Tuesday Brax went to Mrs. D's house and I organized and cleaned most of the house.... let's just say I had 7 bags of trash.  No idea how we end of having so much stuff but man am I glad it is all done.  It was a big job but I have to say that all of my kitchen cabinets are organized and clean, Brax's closet is organized, the changing table is no longer full of Brax's jammies- it is ready for the new baby!  Wednesday cousin Madelyn and Aunt 'Leasha came over and then my friend Heather came over for lunch and play/girl time.  We had a great time and it was SO great to catch up with Heather!!!!

Friday Ramblings

I made it to Friday!!! It's been a long tiring week but we made it and Brax is back to himself!  We are so thankful that he is better.  I know every mother/father thinks that their child is the cutest and I am definitely no different.  From the way he walks to the way he squats--I know this is weird but he squats down all of the time and he can stay that way for a very long time.  It is so stinking cute to me.
Next week is spring break!!!! YESSSSS!  And, from what I can tell on the 5 day forecast Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be beautiful!  I am ecstatic!  We already have a trip to the zoo planned for Monday (we are not crazy enough to go on half price Wednesday during Spring Break) and possibly a trip to a little play area at a local church.  I am sure there will be a few play dates in there too and one day this momma is cleaning out the kitchen cabinets, which sadly is fun for me! Enough rambling... have a great Friday!

27 weeks and Hand Foot and Mouth Disease

I have reached 27 weeks and I believe this is my last week in my 2nd trimester.  Man, it has flown by and if I think about it get a little overwhelmed at the fact that in 12 weeks and 1 day (85 days) we will be a family of four, that is unless he/she decides to come any earlier.  I am still feeling great, more emotional this time than last, I am sure I have said this 100 times before, haha- could be from exhaustion!  Speaking of exhaustion... the last two days have felt like my first trimester all over again.  I was literally soo tired driving home yesterday that I could have pulled over and taken a little snooze.  (Random thought) We still do not have a crib!!!! haha.  I guess we need to get a move on this and get a move on emptying out the changing table!  We moved the changing table into the new nursery a while back but we left Braxton's stuff in it.  I am going to get him some type of storage for his jammies, shoes, socks, etc that fits in his closet so that we can use the changing table for new baby stuff.  Oh me-oh my------12 weeks!!!  Where did time go?!?!?!  I keep thinking about the stuff that we need to get before the new baby arrives, which is not really a lot since we have it all from Braxton but there is little stuff like new bottle nipples, some new receiving blankets, etc.

Now onto the "rash," which I have diagnosed as hand foot and mouth disease.  Poor baby.  Saturday morning he woke up a little warm so I took his temp and it was almost 102.  Now let me tell you something, when my baby has a fever we are not "let's just watch it" kind of parents.  I called Buddy, who was working, and he said definitely call and get him in so I did.  It was a rough morning, my baby with a fever means fussssssyyyyyy!  He did eat a little breakfast and I got him some Tylenol and by 10am he was crying and crying and felt so bad.  I got him cuddled up with me on the couch and he fell asleep (that in itself is a miracle).  By the time I woke him up for the appt it was time for another dose of medicine and boy did he need it.... he was burning up!  I got him to the doctor and by the time we saw the nurse we were both crying.  He felt so bad and was so hot and I was just emotional and wanted my baby to feel better.  I text Buddy, who was then on his way home from work, and asked him to please come to the dr to be with us (I needed a little support-haha).  Anyways, the little stinker had a virus, his ears were clear and strep test was negative so we were sent home to treat the fever.  While we were there we did talk to the doctor about this rash that my niece had and we chalked it up to be hand foot and mouth disease... BOO (my niece sees the same pediatrican as Brax and she also goes to the same childcare home so it's pretty common for them to get the same thing at the same time and the doctor see us on the same day or just a few days apart for the same symptoms).  I knew that Brax was going to get it because he was following the same symptom route as sweet Madelyn.  Sure enough, Sunday his fever was down pretty much all day, he was still fussy, and he developed the rash.  It was not as bad as Madelyn's but it still produced some painful ugly blisters on his bottom, a few on his feet, hands, and around his mouth (including the inside of his bottom lip).  Poor baby just didn't feel good.  Anyways... long story--he is on his third day of staying home (this goes back to us being the protective parents about sickness--we do not take our baby around other children when he is sick and we do not like him to be around other sick kids--haha- we spent enough time in the doctor's office with ear infections this last year so anything we can avoid, we do!).  His "dots" are clearing up, no more blisters, his appetite is coming back, and he is back to his playful, funny, goofy, sweet self!!!!!!!!!!

Eventful weekend/beginning of the week and I am so thankful that he is feeling better!

Am I the only one....

Am I the only mom that cries when their sweet baby is sick? Goodness, I just can't help myself-it breaks my heart. Waiting for our appointment with the doctor to see what has spiked his fever. Here is my sweet baby sleeping this morning. I know he has to feel pretty bad to have fallen asleep in my arms

Sweet Freedom

I have talked a lot about our two financial goals that we wanted to meet before we even tried for another baby.... Well we all know that things do not always happen in our timing, they happen in His and we ended up pregnant. For some reason money is always a worrisome issue for me, no reason why, it just is. I do not like thinking about it, in fact there was a long period that I never even looked at our bank account because I was scared of what I would see or have to face. (I know it's pathetic haha!) anyways, we have worked so hard to gain this freedom-- freedom from unnecessary debt, debt for things that we could totally do without-- and I can finally say that we have sweet freedom!!!! Through persistence and A LOT of discipline We have reached our two goals that I have previously spoken about!!!! Sweet freedom!!!

15 months, kind of

(No 30th day in a month means we have a kind of 15 months old)
I have not done an update on Braxton in a while!!!  He is truly such a joy and ALL boy!  He loves to be outside and loves to get dirty (ok maybe he doesn't know he is getting dirty but he sure does a good job of it, hehe).  He is still a great eater, sometimes a bottomless pit.  I assume he is pushing 30 lbs--last time we took him to the dr to get an ear check he was almost 27lbs.  He is our big boy and I love every ounce of his cushy self.  He is still not much of a talker- he will say things like "night night" when he gets his blanket, he says thank you, hi (usually repeatedly over and over) and mama (it's not directed at me though).  He waves bye bye, blow kisses, and barks just like our beagle.  This bark is no tiny "woof woof" this is a deep down beagle bark, too cute!  He still signs "more" and recently started signing "eat"--although that is not spoke language I love that he can still communicate with us through signs.  He understands more than he speaks.  If I ask him if he wants to go outside he goes to the door and tries to open it, when we ask him if he is ready to go bye bye he knows to go to the garage door.  I can ask him to go give something to daddy and he walks to daddy then starts running the other way, haha, it's a cute game.  He hates getting his diaper changed, getting out of the bath/shower, and absolutely hates getting in his car seat.  He loves to put toys in and out of a basket/box/whatever he can.  He has a favorite book that we read 10-15 times a day, mommy even has it memorized, and I would be lying if I said I did not put it in his bed with him last night (there was a we little battle of the wills going on at bed time last night).  He absolutely LOVES to read, even if it is just him sitting on the floor looking at all of his books, he loves it.  We are working on animals and animal sounds, last night he was trying really hard to copy the monkey and sometimes the lion roar.  When you ask him a question he will give you one of two responses "heeeh?" or he shakes his head no.  He does not like it when his best friend, Madelyn, cries.  He will walk around fake crying just because she is.  He is a very very sensitive child--he might or might not get that from me =) He is truly such a joy to our family.  Love him to pieces!

Isn't he gorgeous?!?!  Check out his 16 teeth!

One of his games, saying hi to mommy through the dog door

Oh a hole, let's put our thumb in it!

Oh ya know- messy little boy loves his ravioli! PS- this will put a ring around your bath tub so be prepared to clean it after the bath!

Brax and his best friend/cousin Madelyn.  They are best friends.

Playing in the back yard, venturing off without mommy and daddy.

His new game is to go inside without us and shut the door.  **Don't worry we don't leave him, we play games**
